Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why do I see your photos on other photographer's websites?
A. Because the other photographer is infringing our our copyright! We
have recently been notified that two of our images are being used on another
local photographer's website. This was done without our permission and
without our client's permission (whom has been notified). This
photographer is not only infringing on our copyright, but also subject to
damages from our client because he does not have a model release.
Q. What is a model release?
A. A model release allows a photographer to use your image for promotional
purposes. We are very concerned about our client's confidentiality.
We do not use any image for promotional purposes without explicit permission
from our client.
Q. Do you use staff photographers?
A. Never. Part of the enjoyment of being married is to working together
and doing something that is truly rewarding. Because we only work
together (Janis and Sean), this allows us to focus on providing outstanding
quality and service.
Q. Do you work for other studios as a staff photographer?
A. No.
Q. I have heard horror stories about photographers, especially fly-by-night
photographers. What makes you different?
A. We are a well established business that has been in the same location for
over 4 years. Additionally, we have made a long term commitment to stay
in our remarkable 3000 square foot studio.
Q. If you have a studio, why isn't your studio address on your website?
A. Because we do not accept walk in clients and meetings are by appointment
only. Also, our hours are very irregular. Do not be surprised to receive an
email from Janis at 3am!
Q. I sent you an email but never received a response. Are you that busy that my
email is not important?
A. Our clients are very important and we would never purposely not reply to
your email. We used to get 200+ SPAM messages/day before we began to filter our
email. Most likely, your email was inadvertently flagged as SPAM by our
SPAM/virus checking software. Please submit
inquiries through
the website. Inquiries submitted from the website do not get SPAM checked.
Q. How soon are the prints ready?
A. We can have them ready as soon as five business days (rush charges apply).
The normal turn-around time is four to six weeks.
Q. What size are your proofs?
A. The prints are 4x6 with borders.
Q. What is the difference between a proof and a print?
A. A proof only has a small amount of correction performed to the image. A
print has more corrections and enhancements performed on the image.
Q. Are the negatives available?
A. Yes, they are available with the purchase of certain packages.
Q. Who will be photographing our wedding?
A. All weddings are photographed by two photographers, Janis and Sean Foley.
Q. Will you have an assistant?
A. I bring my husband, who is also a photographer. He acts as a "second camera"
(especially during the ceremony). Basically, you get two professional
photographers at no extra charge.
Q. How many cameras will you use at the wedding?
A. We normally use at least four cameras at the same time to ensure we
capture your wedding from different vantage points. We usually bring at least 6
cameras to each wedding.
Q. What kind of cameras do you use?
A. We use a mix of 35mm and high-end professional digital cameras. Medium
format is available upon request.
Q. Do you offer black and white (b/w)?
A. Yes, we normally offer a mix of color and black and white photos at no extra
charge.
Q. What style of photography do you offer?
A. We offer a mix of photojournalistic, traditional, and magazine style
photography.
